Another RICELAND poem, "Chairs," was accepted by Verse Wisconsin for a special issue.

The same poem led another journal to solicit some fiction from me. Unfortunately, I don't have much worth mentioning to send. Lot of work to do this week. 2 exams left to write, Ghoti is late, I'm on duty this weekend, and I have to proctor an SAT exam Saturday. Not a lot of time. Maybe next week, I'll be able to write...

Isn't it ironic, part cool--part hell, that while still a student, and now as a teacher, you still have been moved enough, and stoked up enough to have found time to write as much as you have. I still work full time, and my life does get in the way of writing time. Yet what would it be like to not make a living, to just be a writer?
Would there be as much inspiration, as much passion?

I spent a year free-lancing and writing pretty much full-time. I had no problems, other than struggling to make any decent money. My goal is to get back to that situation, but with a more stable income.
