The Northville Review just picked up a story I've been trying to place for awhile. I've also learned that a review of ANTHEM is tentatively scheduled for October in The Pedestal Magazine.

Also, "Dear Cow," a poem from RICELAND, came out in the Tipton Poetry Journal.

Thanks for a peek at DEAR COW. I found a great illustration to go with it over on FFTR. When I was in 4th grade, my stepfather made me shoot my dog, a stray that had killed 30 of the neighbor's chickens, because I was "a girly boy, too damned sensitive". It was quite a trauma for me. He did help me bury it out in the field. All I could think about was putting a bullet in him. He managed to kill himself, smoking 3 packs of Pall Malls a day, dying at 55 years old, ravaged with cancer. I might have to emulate your effort and write a poem called "Dear Dog"; or not.

I'm sorry to hear about that, Glenn. I toned down some of the violence to animals in RICELAND. It's something I've gone back and forth about.
