So I got some good news today from a publisher to whom I'd sent a novella manuscript I wrote last summer. It's a bite. Contract's on the way, so we'll see. But it looks pretty good so far. I'm really excited about his. It would be a 2013 release, which is certainly better than a never release. This is also a little crazy because I just pitched a series idea to an e-press for a supernatural/mystery/possibly YA series. They loved the pitch and the outline and are waiting on a couple chapters before sending the contract. So lots of good news all around.

I'm not complaining at all, mind you, but I do wish I'd get a bite on a poetry collection in the next year or two. It would be nice to do a poetry reading and have something recent for sale. Also, I haven't won the lottery in a while, and I haven't cracked cold fusion in a Coke bottle. So still plenty of work left to do...

Nothing succeeds like success,
young sir, soon father to be.
Your life is hitting some fabulous
emotional, personal, and professional
peaks. May it continue. You
deserve it. And of course your
acrid sense of levity and fun is
what separates you from the
prissy egocentric pricks who
can not celebrate your good fortune.

Congratulations! Or pre-congratulations or whatever is appropriate. I hope things continue to proceed - with the novella, the series, and cold fusion in a Coke bottle. That last thing may take some time, but we will wait.

Thanks folks. For the cold fusion, I'm actually thinking of switching to Dr. Pepper. It's not as acrid...
