Sometimes those family photos can tell some interesting stories. Looking at the albums at my in-laws, I could see several significant transitions their lives took. Odd with the advent of digital phone photos and digital cameras, with so many hundreds of snapshots just deleted, I doubt that the old standby family album will be on the shelf much longer.
True. Now we have digital photo albums, though. It's interesting, to me, to think of the progression of photo styles--from the earliest highly posed photos in which no one smiled, to the more recent ones which often aren't posed at all.
